Amazing and overall very satisfied with Recommend.my! I easily found Sq(M)International via recommend.my because of very good interface and proceed to contact at 12:20pm. Responses by the service provider also very good and fast and smooth. Worker came at 2pm and job done well and fast finished at 3pm. Recommended good service provider and platform is easy to use. Service provider in the platform responded promptly also arranged for the fix the sonnet available time. They did a good job at a reasonable price. Got my TV bracket removed, hanging TV cabinet removed, sealed up the holes and painted all within half day, workmanship was decent.

My Experience with Recommend.my : A cautionary post!

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with Recommend.my, hoping it might save someone else from a similar headache.

So, I decided to use Recommend.my to hire a handyman to install solar lights at the back of my house. I submitted my order and got a WhatsApp message to confirm the time and date, which I did. The day before the appointment, they messaged again to confirm and asked if they could come earlier at 9 AM. I agreed.

Fast forward to the appointment day, the workers arrived 45 minutes late without any heads-up. I was left wondering if they were coming at all! When they finally showed up, one of the workers called their "boss" and handed me the phone. The boss said they needed to charge an extra RM 200 due to the distance and additional work. After some back and forth, we settled on RM 350. Not a great start, but I went along with it.

After they installed the lights, I paid them and thought that was the end of it. But then, I got an SMS from Recommend.my with an invoice number and receipt for payment only RM 100! I was shocked. I contacted their customer service, and they told me I should have received a link to agree to the price, which I never got. They basically washed their hands of the situation and told me to sort it out with the service provider. I also informed them that it's because I trusted the name that I decided to order the services from their platform.
Maybe it's their way to be in cahoots with the service provider 😕

I messaged the service provider, who admitted they declared a lower amount to avoid paying a higher commission to the platform. They charged me extra for the services directly. After some heated exchanges, I finally got a refund, and Recommend.my said they would take disciplinary action against the provider... This too after I mention are they trying to scam me by informing there is system limitation from their end!
But by then, I had already decided never to use their services again.

I’m sharing this so others are aware of the potential pitfalls. While I’d like to give Recommend.my the benefit of the doubt, this experience has left me wary.
